Sally: Dan ran the prom, which was held in downtown Detroit at the Sheraton Cadillac Hotel, and he did a great job, tho I didn’t see much of him. The honor of organizing the prom went to the person who lost Senior Class President. Broke my heart that he lost because Dan had always been so active in student government and social stuff and organized all kinds of events and good times. He had been class president in Sophomore and Junior year, but they gave it to a jock who never did anything except play football.

Sally writing to Alana: He was so smart and very very funny. You know, I met him in the tenth grade in English class – he did a great Dudley Doright impression – and I loved him very much the 23 years we were together. Still do. We had such amazing times – I’ve seen the whole world thanks to him. And he went on to have you and Alec and I’m so grateful for that. I always always always regretted not having siblings for Tricia. So wonderful that she has you.
